Review
It is Earth year 2005 and the mechanical planet Unicron is munching its way across the universe.
Devouring planets and refuelling on their resources, Unicron is fast approaching Cybertron – the homeland of warring factions the Autobots and Decepticons, giant transforming robots currently engaged in a fierce battle on Earth, unaware that their motherland is under threat.
Optimus Prime and Megatron, the respective leaders of the Autobots and the Decepticons, are both mortally wounded in the skirmish on Earth. Prime dies, passing on the ‘Matrix Of Leadership’ to Ultra Magnus, while a badly injured Megatron is cast out by his Decepticon minions.
Unicron takes in Megatron and the former Decepticon leader is repaired and refashioned into Galvatron. As repayment, Galvatron must locate and destroy the one thing capable of thwarting Unicron – the Matrix Of Leadership.
What follows is a rather complicated, colourful journey, that only die hard Transformers fans would understand or in truth, care about.
