Zachery Quinto and Chris Pine take on the mantles of Spock and Kirk in JJ Abrams Star Trek

 Star Trek director JJ Abrams has angered fans by saying the movie "Isn't for them".

The Lost creator and Cloverfield director says his Star Trek movie doesn't need any knowledge of the franchise and is aimed at winning over film lovers who've never bothered becoming Trekkers.

But existing fans fear a style over substance space saga that has all the gloss of Abrams TV shows while dumping the very ideas that have made Star Trek such a huge success over three decades on TV and ten blockbuster movies.

In an exclusive interview with Sky Movies (click below to watch it) Abrams says he's aiming the movie at "future fans" and also lets on that he'd like to do another Trek movie after this one.
