Ah, the heady days of Summer. A time to discover and explore, to leave everyday things behind; to set the mind free and let the imagination soar. A time for journeys and adventures. The perfect time, in fact, to plan THE GREAT SUMMER ESCAPE.
So that's what we've done at Sky Movies. As the holiday season begins, we're making every day an adventure by bringing together the biggest movies in a Summer-long festival of thrills, spills, laughs and gasps. Trust us, it'll take the whole family to cloud nine and beyond.
Sky Movies Family leads the way with two seasons to leave you amused, agog and a-tizzy.
Culminating with the premieres of bear-knuckled smash Kung Fu Panda and the movie of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the awesome ANIMATION SEASON features some of the best-loved and most colourful characters you'll never meet. From Shrek to The Simpsons, it's a week-long cavalcade of cartoon fun.
But there'll be no time to catch your breath as it's immediately followed by the FANTASY & ADVENTURE SEASON, a non-stop rollercoaster that begins with Indiana Jones's first three escapades showing back-to-back in HD, then runs and runs and keeps on running throughout August.
Of course, we wouldn't have the whole whip-and-Fedora without Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, but worry not – Indy is going fourth on Sky Movies Premiere to complete the set over one cracking weekend.
That's just one of the massive premieres coming to whisk you away – in mesmerising HD and a year before any other UK TV channel.
Not only will Kung Fu Panda sweep you off your feet, but you'll also get to Meet Dave (he's an oddball from another planet who looks a lot like Eddie Murphy), put your seatbelt to the test with Speed Racer, and go jetting off with Iron Man.
And as well as taking you to a galaxy far, far away with Star Wars: The Clone Wars, The Great Summer Escape pays a visit to the weird and wonderful world of Hellboy II, makes a second trip to Narnia for a date with Prince Caspian, and goes on an eventful Journey To The Center Of The Earth with Brendan Fraser.
It all gets underway with an action-packed jaunt to the Far East and another engagement with Brendan Fraser (now there's a guy with a sense of adventure!) in fantasy threequel The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor.
Sky Movies Comedy joins the fun, celebrating the end of term with the classroom-wrecking SCHOOL'S OUT season before uniting mirth with matrimony in the loved-up WEDDING SEASON.
And just when you thought it was all over, we prepare for the arrival of The Dark Knight on Premiere with a week dedicated to those magnificent and often Marvel-lous COMIC BOOK HEROES. It's a super-convention that pulls together the considerable forces of Spidey, Hellboy, The Incredible Hulk, X-Men, Darkman, Iron Man, Transformers and the Fantastic Four.
