Ben Stiller has confirmed his fashionista-baiting model Derek Zoolander is to get another run down the catwalk.
“I've been trying to get Zoolander 2 together and we've had a few scripts,” said Stiller. The star has just directed and starred in the Hollywood war movie spoof Tropic Thunder.
“ I feel that is the sequel I really would like to do some day because I like the original and I would make sure it was something new and worthy of it first."
The 2001 movie, in which Stiller played a dim-witted model opposite his clothes horse nemesis Owen Wilson, made more than sixty million dollars at the box office.
In the original, Will Ferrell’s fashion mogul is charged by the fashion industry to find a male model – Stiller’s Derek Zoolander - who can be brainwashed in order to assasinate the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
Unsurprisingly, the film was never show in that country as it was also depicted as impoverished and dependent on sweatshops.
Stiller also recently confirmed he is planning a third installment of his successful Meet The Parents franchise, which will see him reunite with Robert De Niro - and he will next be seen in the sequel, Night At The Museum 2: Battle Of The Smithsonian - for more information, click here.
