Never miss

Following Clone Cadets, the second episode sees the clones of Domino Squad return to Kamino after reports that General Grievous is planning an all out attack on Tipoca City. Reluctantly working with Count Dooku's Sith apprentice Asajj Ventress, the General creates a diversion in space that allows the ruthless villainous to launch the main attack on the cloning facility. Tasked with capturing the DNA that the clones are created from, Ventress faces fierce opposition from Rex, Cody, Fives and Echo, assisted by maintenance clone 99, plus Jedi Knights Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Review

Moral: “Fighting a war tests a soldier's skills, defending his home tests a soldier's heart.”

“Kenobi, Kamino has fallen. Your clone army is doomed.” General Grievous

Review: Perhaps the most epic episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars yet, ARC Troopers features not only a spectacular space battle, but a gripping underwater sequence followed by an all-out clones versus droids showdown in Tipoca City. Plus, there's lightsaber action galore and, in amongst all the jaw-dropping action, a moving story of courage, loyalty and sacrifice. Taking the show to new levels of emotional depth and visual brilliance, ARC Troopers really sets the tone for season three, even hinting at some of the revelations which look set to rock the series as it gets further into its 22-episode run.

Best moment: If you're a fan of lightsaber fights (and frankly, who isn't?) then you'll be pleased to know that ARC Troopers has a dazzling double whammy of Separatist-slicing action. Not only does Anakin Skywalker once again go blade-to-blade with villainous Sith minion Asajj Ventress, but Obi-Wan Kenobi takes on General Grievous in what could be seen as an early round in their fateful fight from Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.

Classic Star Wars references
: First seen in Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, the flying whales of Kamino – known as Aihwa – are inspired by the work of legendary Star Wars production artist Ralph McQuarrie. Ralph originally included similar creatures in his drawings of the gas planet Bespin from Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back.
