Wall Street 12

Greed is good, lunch is for wimps. So goes the mantra of Gordon Gecko (the Oscar-winning Michael Douglas), the most voracious corporate shark in America. Charlie Sheen is the eager young protege drawn into Gecko's selfish, dollar-driven world in Oliver Stone's slick and juicy morality tale. Post-credit crunch, it tastes even better.

Review

Oliver Stone's excellent morality tale stars Charlie Sheen as the young hotshot trying to make it big in Wall Street who manages to get a job with big fish Gordon Gecko (a superbly greasy Michael Douglas).

At first he lives the high life, until the airline his father (real-life dad Martin Sheen) works for is threatened by Gecko, who plans to asset-strip it.

Realising his misplaced loyalty he attempts to do the right thing and bring Gecko down.

A brilliant film that captures the awfulness of Reagan's America and the Eighties perfectly.

Got many a young man into stripy shirts and braces. Gecko's "Greed is good" and "Lunch is for wimps" became a mantra for this scum.
