The Bone Collector

Denzel Washington as a quadriplegic police forensics whiz teams with Angelina Jolie as a rookie cop with a knack for crime-scene analysis. Combining his brain with her eyes and legs, the duo track down a serial killer with a passion for leaving clues to his next victim. It starts strongly, with neat performances by the stars and some creepy crime scenarios, but clues and plot soon become too complex. The denouement is daft and the killer's eventual identification - cloaked by loads of red herrings - seems irritatingly random. But the film boasts style and suspense, and has more going for it than against.
