Vintage adventure starring Clive Brook and Reginald Owen. Holmes' arch-enemy, Professor Moriarty, imports gangsters from Chicago.

Review

Ernest Torrence, the veteran Scottish actor who made such a formidable Hollywood villain, stars in this updated Holmes adventure in which the Baker Street sleuth tangles with Chicago gangsters. Torrence makes a formidable Professor Moriarty, while Clive Brook contributes a smooth and tight-lipped Holmes - perhaps cross that Fox Studios had chosen to give him a romantic interest in this one.
