It's a true story right up Alfred Hitchcock's macabre street: two college boys murder a friend and hide his body in a trunk which they then use as a drinks table for a party attended by the dead man's parents and fiancée. But Hitch opts to shoot the entire film in one room, making it very stagey. Still, James Stewart, who plays the boys' suspicious teacher, makes it worthwhile.
