Push 01

In a world where Nazi experiments have led to generations of people developing superpowers, a telekinetic (Chris Evans) and a clairvoyant (Dakota Fanning) race to stop an evil organisation known as The Division from killing more of their kind. Gladiator star Djimon Hounsou plays the villain in this Heroes-style superpower romp.

Review

Opening with narration from Dakota Fanning that explains how Nazi experiments have endowed generations of survivors with supernatural powers, Push switches to Hong Kong where one of these gifted individuals, Nick Gant (Evans), is hiding out from The Division; the shadowy government organisation that murdered his dad a decade before.

Like his father, Gant is a 'mover', a telekinetic who can move objects with his thoughts, although his abilities are underdeveloped and weak.

When Cassie (Fanning), a 13-year-old clairvoyant or 'watcher', turns up on his doorstep begging him to help her find a suitcase containing $6 million, Gant reluctantly helps her track down Kira (Belle), a powerful 'pusher' who is able to plant thoughts into people's minds.

The only person who has managed to escape from The Division's sinister clutches, Kira appears to be the key to finding the suitcase. With ruthless Division agent and 'pusher' Henry Carver (Hounsou) hot on their trail, however, the three must combine their abilities and wits to stay one step ahead of certain death.
