Party girl Alicia Huberman (Ingrid Bergman) is recruited by a US government agent (Cary Grant) to spy on a group of her German father's Nazi friends in Rio De Janeiro. Things get murky when Alicia marries one of Hitler's agents in order to gain his trust...while she falls in love with Grant. Director Alfred Hitchcock is on sublime form in no small part thanks to the chemistry between Bergman and Grant. Trivia: Hitch claimed he was under CIA surveillance because the film featured uranium.

Review

This is one of Alfred Hitchcock's most suspenseful thrillers.

Cary Grant stars as a US government agent who gatecrashes a party held by the daughter (Ingrid Bergman) of a wartime traitor.

Through the use of charm, and a little blackmail, he persuades her to go to Brazil in order to get close to an ex-Nazi (Claude Rains) who is plotting against the United States.

The assignment is full of danger, and the hotter things get for her, the more concerned and romantically fascinated Grant becomes.
