Nicolas Cage returns as Ben Gates, treasure hunter extraordinaire. This time he's on the trail of the mythical City of Gold after one of his ancestors is implicated in the assassination of President Lincoln. Yep. Ed Harris is the baddie he battles as he flits from Paris to London to Washington DC. Diane Kruger is now Ben's estranged wife and Dame Helen Mirren queens it as his American linguistics professor mom.

Review

Professional adventurer Ben (Cage) is clocking up the air miles as he seeks to clear the name of one of his ancestors weirdly implicated in the assassination of Lincoln.

He's also on the trail of the mythical Book of Secrets, its whereabouts known only by the president, and some sort of subterranean City of Gold in the Mount Rushmore region.

A highlight is an impressively-staged car chase through the streets of the City of London featuring a Fullers Brewery truck and lots of popping casks.

Cage does a decent space-out Indiana Jones impression, while a strong supporting cast includes Dame Helen Mirren, giving Cage grief as his dear old mum.
