Tank (Dane Cook) is an "emotional terrorist" paid by dumped boyfriends to give their exs a date from Hell so the ladies will realise what they've given up. But, when Tank's best mate Dustin (Jason Biggs) requests his services for his unrequited love Alexis (Kate Hudson), Tank finds himself falling for the perky blonde and risking both the girl and best bud in this potty-mouthed romcom.

Review

Not an easy comedy to pin down, this. Clearly, everyone's idea of what constitutes romance is different. Comedy, too.

But imagine Fight Club meets Risky Business with extra sauce and you might get where My Best Friend's Girl is coming from.

Directed by the guy who gave us seminal Eighties romance Pretty In Pink and driven by energetic turns from Hudson, Cook and American Pie's Biggs (plus a cameo from Alec Baldwin), it does come with comedy form.

But like comedy Marmite, it'll split the audience between those rolling in the aisles and those rolling their eyes.
