A polished, involving and extremely well acted supernatural thriller from director Neil Jordan. Annette Bening's nightmares are invaded by visions of the victims of disturbed child murderer Robert Downey Jr. No one will believe her, her own daughter becomes one of the victims and she's locked up in a padded cell but escapes... It may not be Jordan's best film but it's quite mesmerising in its eerie way, Bening and Downey are excellent and so is the sleek, expensive-looking and classy production. Roy Orbison sings the title song over the closing credits. Underrated.
