Flawless-2

In 1960, Laura Quinn (Demi Moore) – a negotiator for the powerful, male-dominated London Diamond Corporation - learns from lowly caretaker Hobbs (Michael Caine) that she is about to lose her job. But Hobbs has been planning to top up his paltry pension for 15 years, and all he needs is someone to help him get into the company’s gem-jammed vault... Never one to turn down an indecent proposal, Moore joins sly old Mikey for an inside job that strikes blows for justice and the feminist cause.

Review

Caine is on avuncular form as Hobbs, the all-seeing, all-hearing, adage-spouting handyman who draws Demi Moore’s frustrated exec Laura into his scheme to rip off their avaricious employers.

Headed by sneaky old duffer Joss Ackland (basically a South African cousin of the Dukes from Trading Places), the ‘Lon Di’ corporation is an all-boys’ club from which Laura is about to be unceremoniously ejected.

So it doesn’t take much persuasion for her to join Hobbs in kicking them where it hurts - in the coffers.

Of course it wouldn’t be a proper heist without a few spanners in the works.

And could Caine's wily old widower be driven by something other than money?
