Will Smith wise-cracked his way to international stardom in this hyper-kinetic action flick directed by the king of movie carnage Michael Bay. Smith and Martin Lawrence are Miami cops protecting witness Tea Leoni from a brutal drug lord, trading zingy quips as they bring their own unique brand of justice to the streets of Miami.

Review

A box-office blast from the Beverly Hills Cop school of film-making. This time we get two black cops - one (Will Smith) who doesn't act much and the other (Martin Lawrence) who acts rather too much for comfort.

Although a crowd-pleaser for its terrific action scenes, the film has too much interplay and too little plot.

"You're starting to get on my goddam nerves," says Lawrence at one point, and he's not kidding.

Still, Téa Leoni's a heroine straight off the front cover of a fashion magazine and, just when you've started to nod off at the heroes' incessant rattle, a first-rate shoot-out comes along to liven you up again.
