He's back. One of the world's greatest horror icons is being rebooted in 2010, and in the build up to Comic Con '09, a new poster and image depicting Jackie Earle Haley's Freddy Krueger have been released.
Freddy Krueger, the burnt-to-a-crisp, kid-killing, knife-fingered, sleep-invading villain, who found fame in six A Nightmare On Elm Street movies and one Freddy Vs. Jason spin off, is being reborn.
Played by Jackie Earle Haley (last seen as the hood-wearing Rorschach in Watchmen), Freddy will return to the big screen in 2010's A Nightmare On Elm Street remake, currently being shot by former music-video director Samuel Bayer.
It's just one of many films being publicised in the coming days at San Diego's geek convention extraordinaire, the world-famous Comic-Con.
Every year the best (and worst) TV shows and movies are teased, announced and previewed at the event attended by up to 200,000 hardcore fans.
This year's Comic-Con runs from July 23rd to July 26th, and fans of all stripes are probably most eager to get information on the new Elm Street, Iron Man 2, Seth Rogen's Green Hornet adaptation, and James Cameron's titan-in-waiting, Avatar.
