Pitt is still being linked with a Sherlock Holmes role, Christopher Nolan will not release The Prisoner and Dirty Dancing is being remade. It's time for the news...
PITT'S HOLMES RUMOUR WON'T GO AWAY
Warner Bros. may have officially quashed speculation that Brad Pitt is to appear as Moriarty in the new Sherlock Holmes movie, but that hasn't stopped the rumours from continuing to spread.
Guy Ritchie spoke to MTV recently about the movie, and said that Moriarty will indeed appear. But he stopped short of admitting Pitt will play the infamous villain.
"Some kind of an appearance is probably the best way to describe it," Ritchie said. With the official statement saying Pitt will not be 'joining the cast' , it's feasible that Pitt could be playing an uncredited role. When pushed on this, Ritchie responded: "I don’t know how to answer that other than to say there is some kind of appearance (of Moriarty).
"All will be revealed. I’m afraid I have to be slightly ambiguous about this but you’ll understand what I’m talking about when you see the movie."
Christopher Nolan was preparing to direct a movie version of The Prisoner, but has since backed out of the project, according to CineFOOLS. A script has been written by David and Jane Peoples, the couple behind Bruce Willis's time travel thriller, Twelve Monkeys.
Disney have announced the line-up for their D-23 expo, where they showcase their up and coming projects. Prince Of Persia: Sands of Time and Alice In Wonderland are both high on the agenda, as is news of a new Muppet movie.
Twilight's Kristen Stewart has been talking about her role in Welcome To The Rileys, the new thriller directed by Jake (son of Ridley) Scott. Stewart plays a 16-year-old prostitute from New Orleans.
Dirty Dancing is being remade. We know. Don't.
GOLDBLUM DATES LOST ACTRESS
Jeff Goldblum is dating Lost actress Tania Raymonde, according to website Angry Ape.
Fans will realise Raymonde, who played Alex Rousseau in the Sky1 show, is 21-years-old, making her 35 years younger than Jurassic Park star Goldblum.
The pair were spotted having an 'intimate meal' in an LA restaurant.
Goldblum is twice divorced, and most revently had to come out and deny rumours that he was, well, dead.
RES EVIL 4 & REPO MAN GET RELEASE DATES
Resident Evil: Afterlife, the fourth movie in the game-turned-movie franchise, will be released next summer. Both Resident Evil and the Jude Law thriller, Repo Man, have received release dates with the latter hitting cinemas next April.
In Repo Man, Law stars opposite Forest Whitaker and Alice Braga in a tale of a near-future in which artificial organs can be bought on credit - but when payments are deferred, those organs must be repossessed.
WEED IS THE PITT'S, SAYS TARANTINO
Quentin Tarantino claims Brad Pitt offered him weed to smoke during a recent visit to the star's home in the south of France.
Talking to legendary shock-jock, Howard Stern, Tarantino said the 'coolest' thing about Pitt was that he had offered him cannabis.
Pitt had recently said in an interview that he no longer smoked dope, citing the effect it had on his stomach (via the munchies) as the main reason to stop smoking.
“I liked to smoke a bit of grass at the time, and I became very sheltered,” he said.
“Then I got bored. I was turning into a damn doughnut, really. So I moved as far away from that as I could. I was done.”
HOBBIT TO BECOME A TRILOGY
The Hobbit might become a trilogy, according to rumours emanating from the offices of Guillermo Del Toro and Peter Jackson.
Producer Jackson had previously stated that there would be two movies to serve as prequels to his Lord Of The RIngs trilogy, as The Hobbit was too big to turn into one script. Del Toro will direct both.
But now it seems a third movie, which will be something of a bridge between Hobbit and RIngs that would feature material from the expanded Middle Earth world author JRR Tolkein had created.
It's also suspected that Peter Jackson is keen to use 3D technology, while Del Toro is pushing against it.
OUTLAND REMAKE
While we consider a new name for the Movie News Blog that refers to the scale of remake stories we have little choice but to report, let us bring you news of the proposed Outland remake.
The 80s Sean Connery vehicle was effectively High Noon in space, in which Sean Connery played the Sheriff tryoing to keep order on a Jupiter mining moon. So that would make Michael 'Shoot 'Em Up' Davis's remake a remake of a remake.
MAD MAN JOINS SUCKER PUNCH CAST
John Hamm, the leading man in hit US drama, Mad Men, has been cast in Zack Snyder's next movie, Sucker Punch.
Hamm will play brothel owner, High Roller (which is definitely his style, but may or may not be his character's name).
The rest of Snyder's cast is very much female-dominated, with Carla Gugino, Vanessa Hudgens, Jena Malone, Emily Browning and Jamie Chung all on board.
The plot revolves around an institutionalised girl who is threatened with a lobotomy by her stepfather. It takes a bit if a twist when she and her friends journey into an alternate reality as they plan an escape.
EARTH VS MOON
Will Smith's name has been linked with Earth Vs. Moon, a $200m science fiction thriller described as a “hardcore, 300-style movie with some comic relief to it, but about the Earth and a colony on the moon essentially in a civil war.”
Universal Studios fought off competition as they picked the story up last year for a six figure sum, meaning they're pretty serious about getting it made.
The writers behind the forthcoming comedy/ horror, Zombieland, are responsible for the script, and say they got the idea from a speech made by Stephen Hawking.
HOSKINS TOO OLD FOR ROGER RABBIT
Director Robert Zemeckis might be rather keen on making a sequel to Who Framed Roger Rabbit, but Bob Hoskins says he's told old to wrestle cartoon bunnies as private investigator, Eddie Valiant, ever again.
"The thing is, you act with cartoons, you got to be able to bounce off the walls like a cartoon," Hoskins explained. "So I'm too old. I'm too old now. I think he could do a sequel but he wouldn't be able to do it with me. I'm too old!"
PITT NOT HOLMES
Brad Pitt will not be joining the cast of Guy Ritchie's new Sherlock Holmes movie.
The studio behind the picture, Warner Bros., responded to the Daily Mirror's claim that Pitt was being lined up to play the role of Moriarty, after Warners had objected to the classic villain's omission.
"The report in (the) London Mirror is completely inaccurate," read a Warner Bros. statement. "Brad Pitt is not joining the cast of Sherlock Holmes and we're extremely pleased with the production of the film."
PITT IN OOBERMIND
A movie that Brad Pitt will be joining the cast of is Oobermind, an animated comedy about a supervillain who manages to kill of his superhero arch enemy - only to discover life is remarkably boring without an adversary to deal with.
Will Ferrell has also signed on after original star Robert Downey Jr. had to quit the project citing scheduling conflicts. Jonah Hill (Superbad) is already on board.
Spider-Man 5 (and 6!)
James Vanderbilt, the writer who penned the first draft of Spider-Man 4, has been hired to write Spideys 5 and 6.
Vanderbilt's script, which has already been rewritten once (this is normal practice in Hollywood - the version you see on screen is often the 4th or 5th draft), is still a way off being filmed - but he obviously did something right as he's been signed up to work on even more Spidey movies, even if the likes of Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst and director Sam Raimi haven't yet.
Maguire and co. are all expected to return to the franchise next year, with Spider-Man 4 being released in May 2011.
REDFORD TAKES ON ABE ASSASSINATION
Robert Redford has been linked with directing duties on historical drama, The Conspirator.
The movie tells the story of Mary Surratt, an alleged conspirator in the Abraham Lincoln assassination, and cohort of assassin John Wilkes Booth.
The Risky Biz Blog also links James McAvoy with a lead role.
NICHOLS IN DEEP WATER
Director Mike Nichols is planning on adapting Deep Water, a 1957 novel by the author Patricia Highsmith.
Highsmith is rather popular in the world of film having penned the likes of Stranger On A Train, which was adapted by Alfred Hitchcock, and The Talented Mr Ripley, which starred Matt Damon.
Nichols, 78, is the director behind Working Girl, The Birdcage, Closer and Charlie Wilson's War.
TAX CUTS THREATEN HOLLYWOOD'S FUTURE
Despite having a movie megastar as its governor, the state of California, has seen a 'disastrous' decline in movie productions thanks to cheaper alternative states and Canada.
Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has been governor of California since 2003, is facing a crisis as the industry that once pumped $38bn into the economy begins to look elsewhere for cheaper tax deals.
The amount of movies being made in Califroania has been on the decline for years, with half as many movies being made in 2008 than five years previous. If 2009 remains on the current trend, it will be the leanest year ever in the history of Hollywood production.
Even the franchise that made Arnie a star went South - Terminator: Salvation was shot in Mexico in order to make the most of a 25% tax cut. The Twilight saga is another franchise to go elsewhere - the first movie was shot in Oregon, while New Moon is being shot in Vancouver.
HUDGENS LOOKS FOR ADULT ROLES
High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens says she would like to shed her teen image and move into 18-rated territory.
"The fact that kids look up to me is extremely flattering," said the Disney star who once took pictures of herself in the nude, and later found they'd leaked onto the internet. "But at the end of the day, I want to do R-rated films that are edgier."
RDJ & INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE
Robert Downey Jr. is being linked with a lead role in a reboot of Interview With The Vampire.
The movie will be based on the books of Ann Rice, and Downey Jr. is being linked with the role of Lestat Du Lioncourt, the role played by Tom Cruise in the 1994 adaptation.
Interview With The Vampire is just one story in a series of novels by Rice, which would be the key attraction to the studio behind the reboot - the opportunity to make sequels off the back of any success the movie brings.
SUPERMAN WON'T RETURN
The topsy-turvy, on-again, off-again world of Superman just got a little bit more complex thanks to a court ruling that has split the comic book hero's world in half.
Time Warner Bros and DC Comics are fighting the estate of Jerry Siegel, Superman's co-creator, for control of the character - but the court ruled that, while the estate owns anything that featured in the first two weeks of Superman comics (and some Action comics), other story elements, such as Superman's flying and x-ray vision abilities, not to mention the characters of Lex Luthor, Perry White and Jimmy Olsen, belong to Warners.
To put it simply, there's a long way to go before this is resolved enough for Superman to hit the big screen again.
SUPERMAN DIRECTOR TO DIRECT BATTLESTAR
Bryan Singer is set to direct and produce the big-screen version of Battlestar Galactica.
It brings the X-Men and Valkyrie director back to a project he was close to launching almost a decade ago.
Then Singer was developing a pilot that was pitched as a sequel to the 1978 series, but the project was axed after 9/11. It dealt with the same issues of war, flight and terrorism as the hugely popular TV series and the Caprica prequel currently in production.
As yet, there's no script for Galactica, but insiders say the film will be a stand alone re-imagining. The announcement of Singer's involvement ends of a month's worth of rumour around what the director would do next.
BILL STAR JOINS LUCAS FLICK
A former star of TV show, The Bill, has been cast in a new film by Star Wars creator/ destroyer, George Lucas.
Aml Ameen, who played Pc Lewis Hardy in the popular ITV drama has won a part in Red Tails, which tells the story of the first African-American pilots to fly into combat during World War II.
The rather excited actor told The Daily Mirror; "To all my fellow dreamers let this show you that it can be done. This started with a dream and a belief that I can do it."
Ameen also appeared in several West End shows, including Oliver!, as well as BBC1's Holby City. He made his move into the film world with the British drama, Adulthood.
Is this the coolest trailer this year?
LEGO: THE MOVIE
Movies are rapidly becoming the best way to sell toys, it seems, with the news that a movie is to be made based on the Lego toy brand.
With Marvel unashamedly using their film division to sell as many toys and comic books as physically possible, and Transformers becoming one of the biggest cinematic hits to date, it should be of little surprise that a script is being knocked together based on small, stick-together bricks. Which in itself is quite depressing.
Apparently the live action/ CGI project will focus on "child-like imagination and examine creativity and teamwork," which, roughly translated, means a studio exec is driving the project rather than anyone with any creative juices.
The movie based on The Three Stooges, those classic American slapstick comedians, is still settling on a cast - Paul Giamatti is to replace Sean Penn in the Farrelly brothers-directed flick. Meanwhile, Jim Carrey has dropped out of the cast - he was expected to play Curly.
JOHN HUGHES DOC COMING
A low-budget documentary about a road trip-style search for John Hughes may finally get off the ground after the death of the legendary 80s writer/ director.
Matt Austin-Sadowski's Don't You Forget About Me has been doing the rounds for a while with little studio interest - until the director passed away last week.
Now, according to Variety, a big budget deal is a near-certainty.
The doc will feature producer/ director Austin-Sadowski in search of the once reclusive director, while interviewing stars of his movies such as Kelly LeBrock, Ally Sheedy, Andrew McCarthy and Judd Nelson.
It looks like there's going to be a prequel to Death Race. A writer has been hired to pen a script based on a story by Paul W.S. Anderson, the man behind the last Death Race remake, and the likes of Alien Vs. Predator. Oh happy days.
MCG GIVES MORE TERMINATOR PLOT DETAILS
McG has revealed more plot details regarding his next Terminator movie.
The much-derided director is signed on to make three Terminator sequels, and the next will be much more in the vein of the previous instalments, he says.
"One of the problems is that in a post-apocalyptic world, everybody's a little bummed out because your brother melted... your friends are gone. Everything went haywire," he told IGN.
"So the idea is to play with one of the tried and true rules of the franchise – time travel – and introduce it in this picture.
"I don't want to share too much, but let's just say it's very, very likely that John Connor is going to end up running through rooms like this where he knows something that none of us know... We'll have a much more clearly defined antagonist in the new picture. It will be more of a chase movie with a new Terminator that is on your ass."
LOST WRITERS CLIMB DARK TOWER
JJ Abrams and his Lost writers have their sites set on adapting Stephen King's The Dark Tower novels for a movie.
Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, the executive producers on Lost who took control of the show after Abrams had weaved his magic, are likely to write and produce. The pair have cited Stephen King's work, and in particular, The Dark Tower, as huge inspirations in the writing of the mystery Sky1 show.
The Dark Tower is an epic, seven-novel series, in which a character called The Gunslinger, along with his companions, is drawn towards the titular tower in a journey reminiscent of The Lord Of The Rings. Along the way they encounter magic, swordplay and time travel.
INGLOURIOUS DILDO
Quentin Tarantino has a collection of photos that feature the cast and crew of Inglourious Basterds in compromising positions - ie. holding a large, purple dildo while they sleep.
The director insisted that anyone who was caught sleeping on the set of the WWII movie should have the dildo placed in an embarrassing position so a picture could be snapped and palced on to a board of shame.
Actor Michae Fassbender told WENN: "Big Jerry was a giant purple dildo, very large in girth and length. Basically, anybody that was caught going to sleep would get photographed with Big Jerry the dildo somewhere near their face and put up on the Board of Shame. The idea was three strikes and you're out.
"Brad (Pitt) was up there once on the Board of Shame, Gedeon Burkhard got caught twice, Diane (Kruger) was on the board... There was a lot of people on that board."
TWILIGHT LEADS TEEN AWARDS
Twilight was the big winner at the Teen Choice Awards, picking up nine separate trophies, including best drama and best romance.
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart topped the dramatic acting categories. The film also took awards for well so best liplock, best rumble, best villain, and two best fresh faces.
Miley Cyrus also won six awards, while Zac Effron picked up two awards for his work on High School Musical 3 and 17 Again.
Wolverine looks set to head to Japan in the sequel to the spin-off to the sequel to the sequel to the movie based on a comic book.
Hugh Jackman, who has played the clawed hero four times in the last ten years, made several comments while collecting a Teen Choice award fpr Choice Movie Actor. The star was given a surfboard-shaped award for his efforts in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
"Who knows? Maybe Wolverine will use one of these when he heads to Japan," he told the audience. "See you next time around!"
"Japan is where we're heading, [and] we're starting to work on it now," he told MTV backstage. "We're in ... the first steps of developing that story."
One of the worst toy adaptation movies ever made, Masters Of The Universe, is set for a remake (sorry, reimagining).
LANGELLA MOVES TO WALL STREET
Frank Langella is to star in Wall Street 2, according to entertainment bible Variety.
Langella, who will soon be seen in The Box, alongside Cameron Diaz, will play Lewis Zabel, a mentor to Shia Labeouf's young broker.
Michael Douglas is returning to ply his infamous Gordon Gecko, while Josh Brolin is also being linked with a major role.
NEW TWILIGHT CAST MEMBER
Actor Jack Huston is to join the cast of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the third instalment in the vampire/ werewolf franchise.
The movie is scheduled for release in June of next year, while Twilight: New Moon is out this autumn. The series is based on the hugely popular books by author Stephenie Meyer, with the first movie coming out just last year.
Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson return to the lead roles, along with Taylor Lautner and Xavier Samuel. Bryce Dallas Howard also joins the cast.
HALO STILL OFFLINE
A movie based on the bestselling video game, Halo, is on hold, according to Microsoft.
It was recently rumoured that Steven Spielberg had picked up the rights to produce the movie, but Microsoft insist that's not the case.
The X-Box game was to be adapted by Peter Jackson, with Neill Blomkamp lined up to direct. But legal wrangles put the production in jeopardy, and Jackson instead put Blomkamp in the hot seat for the forthcoming District 9.
NEESON STEPS OUT
Liam Neeson has made his first public appearance since the death of his wife, Natasha Richardson.
Neeson was on the red carpet for the premiere of his latest film, Five Minutes Of Heaven, in which he plays a former member of a Northern Irish paramilitary group, who is haunted by his actions, and hunted by James Nesbitt's widower.
Richardson died in March at the age of 45 after falling during a skiing lesson.
SHEEN IS HIGHEST PAID
Movie stars who turn to the small screen make the most money on TV, according to a "who makes what" article in the American TV Guide magazine.
Kiefer Sutherland is said to make £366k per episode of 24, while Charlie Sheen is paid around £580k for each episode of sitcom Two And A Half Men. The pair appeared together in The Three Musketeers and Young Guns in the late 80s/ early 90s.
Eva Longoria and Teri Hatcher are the leading actresses for their parts in Desperate Housewives, although they are said to earn half of the sums linked to Sheen.
McRUBBISH DIRECTOR TALKS TERMINATOR 5
Wildly unpopular director, McG, has revealed he's busy preparing the way for Terminator 5.
McG was talking to IESB.com when he was quizzed about his upcoming projects, which also include a remake of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea.
"Yeah. I'm prepping 20,000 Leagues, every day, but I'm concurrently prepping Terminator 5," he explained.
"Sometimes people like to take time off, but I'm excited about the next installation of the story, in the Terminator idea... I think the audience is going to be very excited about our way in."
He said similar things about Salvation before that was critically panned. Still, while audiences and critics deride him for a lack of class, wit or invention, McG seems to think it's all in the name.
"It's interesting because a lot of people don't like me, but a lot of people just don't like my name. I can't take that too seriously because that's been my name my whole life. It's not something that I prescribed myself. So, I just gotta roll forward and, hopefully, have the films do the talking."
To clear this up then - any dislike people have of you is purely based on your work, McG. Your name just makes it easier.
CRUISE AND ABRAMS PLAN MI:4
Mission: Impossible 4 has moved a step closer with the news that producers Tom Cruise and JJ Abrams have hired a pair of writers to pen a script.
Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec, who worked with Abrams for four season on his hit TV show, Alias, will be asked to turn in a script based on a story outlined by the pair along with Abrams himself.
Abrams, who directed MI:3, has not been confirmed as director on this or the sequel to Star Trek, but he is the hot favourite to helm both.
UNDERWORLD 4 TOO...
The cash cow that is the Underworld franchise is set to continue - there will be a fourth adventure in the vampire vs. werewolves world after Underworld: Rise Of The Lycans took in over $100m worldwide.
RED DAWN REMAKE UPDATE
Four more actors have been cast in the completely unnecessary remake of Cold War thriller, Red Dawn.
The 80s original, about a group of teens who defy the Soviet invasion of their small US town, starred such acting legends as Patrick Swayze, Lea Thompson, Charlie Sheen, Jennifer Grey, Powers Boothe and C.Thomas Howell, among others.
The remake, however, brings together a cast of (largely) unknowns and will be set in a very different climate, with Chinese troops replacing the Russians.
Isabel Lucas (who had a brief but very memorable role in Transformers 2) will play the incarcerated love interest of Josh Hutcherson, who is mostly known for his work as a child actor in the likes of Bridge To Terabithia and Journey To the Center Of The Earth. Hutcherson takes on the lead role of the boy looking to save his girl - and the town in the process - from the former future of Hollywood, C. Thomas Howell.
SUPERMAN TO RETURN AGAIN
After much pondering over what to do with the Superman franchise, Warners exec Jeff Robinov has told The Wall Street Journal there are plans for a reboot.
Bryan Singer's 2006 effort Superman Returns didn't make the money Warners had expected, and left the character in a state of limbo. Warners dropped Superman down the pecking order as they planned various other comic book sequels.
"It didn't position the character the way he needed to be positioned," said Robinov.
"Had Superman worked in 2006, we would have had a movie for Christmas of this year or 2009,"
According to the article, Warners are planning to release two comic book movies a year, and follow the Marvel Studios template which would see various characters merge in later movies.
MJ FOR SPIDER-MAN!?
Comic book legend Stan Lee says Michael Jackson once discussed the idea of playing Spider-Man in a big screen movie.
"I had been to his place in Neverland. He wanted to do Spider-Man," he said.
Lee said that Jackson was asking about the rights to the character, and suspected Jackson wanted to play the web-slinger himself.
NO NUDITY IN TWILIGHT
The director of Twilight: New Moon has denied there is any nudity in the forthcoming vampire sequel.
Chris Weitz was forced to speak up after Brit actor, Jamie Campbell-Bower, had joked about a scene when speaking to MTV.com.
"I would like to put everyone’s mind at rest and let them know that the Volturi (characters) are not naked. Jamie has what you might call a dry sense of humour and almost managed to convince me - which is why he’s such a good actor.
Campbell-Bower had previously told MTV.com: "We just all sit there, completely naked, for one scene. Yeah, it's me, Michael Sheen and Christopher (Heyerdahl); we just sit there, naked."
SPIELBERG HOPS ON HARVEY REMAKE
Steven Spielberg is planning a remake of the classic 1950 James Stewart movie, Harvey.
Based on a Pullitzer Prize winning novel, Harvey concerns a kind-but-eccentirc man who claims to be friends with an invisible, 6-foot-tall bunny rabbit.
The film's slated for release in late 2010, although quite how Spielberg's fitting all this in is unclear - he's currently working on The Adventures Of TIntin, a remake of the Korean flick, Old Boy and is producing the Band Of Brothers follow-up The Pacific, which appears on Sky Movies next March.
DENZEL FOR PRESIDENT
At 54, Denzel Washington's getting on a bit, particulalry as he wants to play President Barack Obama in the bio-pic of the president's life.
Rumour has it, a prodiuction is finally kicking off with Denzel in the lead role, having been endorsed by the president himself. The only drawback being his ears.
"The only problem is he has bigger ears than me," Washington said.
THE RETURN OF KONG
He might have featured in a 1932 movie, and then be remade (and rekilled) by Peter Jackson in 2006, but it's not over for King Kong.
According to Variety, the book entitled Kong: King Of Skull Island, which is a prequel to the events in the movies, has been picked up by Spirit Pictures who are looking to make the movie in the same style as Beowulf and The Polar Express (motion captured actors are animated by computer generated technology).
TRAVOLTA TO QUIT SCIENTOLOGY?
John Travolta is a virtual recluse who is desperate to leave the Church Of Scientology, according to newspaper reports.
The Mail On Sunday claimed Travolta bitterly regrets following the teachings of the Church in treating his late son's autism, but fears leaving the church as they have potential embarrassing details about the actor's private life.
The report is based largely on the quotes given by a neighbour of Travolta, who claims the actor rarely comes out of the house, and is often seen at night roaming around in a golf buggy on his own.
"We used to see him driving around on a buggy with his son. Now it's just John by himself," the unnamed neighbour was quoted as saying.
BLOOM QUITS PIRATES
Orlando Bloom has turned down the chance to reprise his role as Will Turner in a fourth Pirates Of The Caribbean movie.
According to The News Of The World, the actor says he would rather spend the time with his girlfriend, Mirander Kerr, who recently appeared in a Victoria Secrets photo shoot.
CROWE: 'MORE GENEROUS THAN ROBIN HOOD HIMSELF'
Russell Crowe is at the centre of a whole new kind of story - one in which he was deemed to be a "very nice man" after the Australian actor bought a new car for the boom mic operator on the set of his Robin Hood movie, Nottingham.
Denise Yarde, who holds the microphone-on-a-stick while the scenes are filmed, was on her way to work when her car caught fire. She phoned-in to let the crew know she would be late, but on her arrival Crowe made a joke at her expense.
"Well I'm sure it's all right for you, Russell" responded Yarde, "You've probably never had to wory about finding five grand for a new car."
Crowe felt so bad about the situation he gave her the five grand saying: "There you go, you can buy a ten grand car now."
BOND'S LOTUS FETCHES £105k
James Bond's Lotus Esprit from the film For Your Eyes Only has been sold at auction to a Middle Eastern buyer for £105,000.
The car was one of two used in the production (the other white version was blown up during a stunt) and featured in four scenes.
Designed to be less gadget-laden and more realistic than the elaborate models such as the Aston Martin and submersible Lotus, its only extra appeared to be a ski rack.
The telephone bidder won the auction for the car – which was also driven by Lotus boss Colin Chapman – during a sale by Coys at Blenheim Palace near Oxford.
See more of Bond's cars here.
POTTER ENCHANTS WORLDWIDE AUDIENCE
Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince has hit box office gold, taking in $397m worldwide in its opening five days.
It's the first Harry Potter movie likely to pass the $300m in the US alone since The Philosopher's Stone, and might well be the biggest grossing Potter movie of the six released so far.
On the flipside, Sacha Baron Cohen's Bruno is struggling to make a mark with Potter, Ice Age 3 and The Proposal all likely to outgross it in the holiday season.
CAGE CONSIDERS GHOST RIDER 'RECONCEIVE'
You know Hollywood's gone too far when a studio plans to use the first sequel to a 2006 movie as a reboot. And when that movie will star Nic Cage, and when that movie is Ghost Rider, you've got to wonder if there's some sort of scam involved.
Ghost Rider was released in 2006 to howls of critical derision, making a ridiculously undeserved $228m in the process. But now Cage has told MTV that not only is he planning to "do a reconceive" on the franchise, he's also invented a new word in the process.
He went on to confuse matters further with the nonsensical comment: "I would make it much less of a western and more of an international story,"
After The WIcker Man, Next, Ghost Rider and Bangkok Dangerous, we would like it much more if you retired, Nic.
BRUNO BANNED
It's too out of two for Sacha Baron Cohen in Ukraine. After the former Soviet state banned Borat, they've now refused to allow Bruno into the country, objecting to scenes of nuidty and numerous homosexual references.
DAFOE GOING GREEN
Willem Dafoe is going green again. The actor has signed up to star in John Carter Of Mars, an action thriller about a civil war soldier who is transported to Mars only to find himself involved in an even bigger war .
Unlike his Green Goblin of Spider-Man fame, Dafoe's character will be a good guy, although he's expected to have a number of extra limbs and, unlike his fellow barbaric martians, a fond appreciation for art.
The movie is being written and directed by Andrew Stanton, the Pixar genius behind the likes of Toy Story and Cars. It's not yet known if Dafoe will be donning a suit or if Stanton will render his extra arms using CGI.
BALE SHEDS MORE POUNDS
Christian Bale has once again dropped his body weight for a film role. According to WENN.com, the actor, who once lost 29 kilograms for The Machinist, was spotted looking 'gaunt' in LA.
Bale is currently shooting a movie about Dickie Eklund, the Welterweight boxer whose career ended prematurely due to drug addiction.
EMMA WATSON TO GO GOTH
Harry Potter star Emma Watson is being linked with a role in a musical to be written and directed by goth legend Marilyn Manson.
The movie is a goth-inspired version of Cinderella, and according to Marie Claire, Watson has been approached to play a princess. If she accepts the part, it will be Watson's first non-Potter appearance.
SUPERMAN NOT TO RETURN
Warner Brothers have reveald in court that they are not intending to make another Superman movie any time soon.
The heirs of Superman co-creator Jerome Siegel are currently suing Warners over a rights issue, forcing Warners chairman Alan Horn to admit in court thaty a new movie is years away from production.
PORTMAN SIGNS UP FOR THOR
Natalie Portman is to star in Thor, the comic book movie about the Norse warrior with a rather large hammer.
Portman will play Jane Foster, a nurse who falls in love with the blonde hero. The plot centres on Thor, who is banished to Earth after reigniting an ancient war. He has the chance to become a true hero when an enemy from his own world enters Earth with very bad intentions.
BE IN THE NEW TURTLES MOVIE
So you need to be in Hollywood on July 18th, but if that's not a stumbling block, click here for more details on how to win a part the new Turtles flick.
HUSTON, WE HAVE A KING RICHARD
Danny Huston will play King Richard in Ridley Scott's latest version of Robin Hood.
The film, which is currently shooting, already has an impressive cast including Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett and William Hurt. Huston, who recently appeared in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, will take on the role last played by Sean Connery.
THE KUNG FU KID
Filming has commenced on the remake of the classic 80s action/ drama, The Karate Kid.
Now entitled The Kung Fu Kid, the film is set in China with Jackie Chan taking over the mentor role of Mr Miyagi, while Jaden Smith (son of Will and Jada Pinkett) is the youngster who's forced to take up martial arts to fight off the local bullies.
Harald Zwart will be directing. Fans of the original franchise will probably not want to know his best work to date is The Pink Panther 2.
GIBSON IN FOSTER'S BEAVER
Mel Gibson is being tipped for a part in a Jodie Foster-directed drama about a depressed man who cheers himself up by wearing a beaver puppet on his hand.
Foster will also star in the movie, entitled Mr Beaver.
REYONLDS IS THE GREEN LANTERN
Ryan Reynolds has seen off some stiff competition to win the role of The Green Lantern, a potential blockbuster based on the DC comic.
It's the third comic book movie Reynolds has featured in after Blade: Trinity and X-Men Origins: Wolverine (in a role he's expected to reprise), but the first time he's taken the title role. Justin Timberlake was thought to be a shoo-in for the role before Reynolds was announced.
AL PACINO AS DR DEATH
Al Pacino is set to play Dr Death in You Don't Know Jack, the story of America's most famous pro-euthanasia doctor, Jack Kevorkian.
Susan Sarandon and John Goodman will also feature in the HBO FIlms production, which is being produced by Barry Levinson.
Kevorkian is thought to have assisted in more than 130 assisted suicides and spent eight years in prison after being convicted of second degree murder.
SOPRANOS: THE MOVIE
It's good news/ bad news for The Sopranos Movie, as leading cast member Steve Van Zandt has revelaed a movie is quite likely - but not for a few years yet.
Van Zandt, who played Silvio Dante in the show, said his character is still alive despite being left in a coma and he hopes both James Gandolfini, who played Tony Soprano, and creator David Chase will find time in their schedules to do the movie.
Van Zandt, a musician who's currently on tour with Bruce Springsteen, told Irish newspaper The Belfast Telegraph: "Is it impossible to think we might do a movie? No. It is a possibility. But it ain't going to happen for another few years.”
THE CITY THAT SAILED
Will Smith is eyeing up a project in which Manhattan breaks away from the Amercian east coast, and floats across to England.
Smith would play a street magician in New York whose daughter lives in England. When she finds a magic lighthouse and wishes to be reunited with her father, her wish is granted and Manhattan duly obliges by gloating across the Atlantic.
The script is written by Andrew Niccol (The Truman Show) while Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend) is being linked with directing duties. Rumour has it, Lawrence might be too busy trying to figure out how to turn doomsday book, The World Without Us, into a movie. The 2007 book is a study of the planet Earth should humans instantly disappear.
TIMBERLAKE LINKED WITH LANTERN ROLE
The Green Lantern movie might be a step closer after the Hollywood Reporter revealed that Justin Timberlake heads up a shortlist of three actors vying for the role.
Bradley Cooper (The Hangover) and Ryan Reynolds (x-Men Origins: Wolverine) are also in with a shout of playing the comic book hero, having fended off competition from numerous leading men, including Jared Leto.
The Green Lantern is a test pilot-turned interstellar cop. Martin 'GoldenEye' Campbell has long been set to direct.
INGLOURIOUS PREQUEL
Inglourious Basterds might not have been released yet, but already Quentin Tarantino and producer Harvey weinstein are talking up the possibility of a prequel.
Basterds has received mixed reviews since its Cannes debut, and while Empire magazine gave it an exclusive on-set access-fuelled four stars, few other reviewers have been so kind.
First up was Weinstein, who insisted: "Brad [Pitt] wants to do Inglourious II. We all want to do it ... But unfortunately I cannot give away the plot"
And then Tarantino told Variety: "All through the movie, Brad Pitt and Eli Roth just kept saying, "Prequel. Prequel." Brad would say, "Let's talk him into doing a prequel." The guys love the idea. I've got the storyline. Then again, I was going to do all these animated prequels to Kill Bill. I didn't end up doing any of those."
Let's just hope the one we haven't seen yet is any good. Check out the Facebook page here.
MORE BRUNO CONTROVERSY
Sacha Baron Cohen's hard at work promoting his latest movie, Bruno, and trying to be as controversial as possible in the process.
Cohen was in character on The Today Show in the US when interviewer Matt Lauer spoke to him about the Austrian minister to Great Britain's call for a boycott of the movie.
"What? Austria's turning on me now?" Brüno said as he welled-up with tears.
"I just heard about this now. This is a very private moment. Close-up, please," he said to the show's director.
"That is just so Austrian. They build you up and then they knock you down. First they did it to Arnie, then they did it to Mozart and he had to leave Vienna, I don't know where he lives now. It's only a matter of time before they turn on Adolf. Hug me. I feel so lonely!"
SPIDER-MAN 4 GETS NEW WRITER
Screenwriter Gary Ross has been hired to rewrite the Spider-Man 4 script.
The script has already been worked on by writers James Vanderbilt (who penned Zodiac) and David Lindsay-Abaire (Inkheart), but the hiring of Gary Ross is even better news given his track record. Ross was responsible for the Big and Dave scripts, and also wrote and directed Pleasantville and Seabiscuit, which both starred Tobey Maguire.
HAYDEN WANTS TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY
Heroes star Hayden Panettiere says she hopes to become a serious actress. Panettiere, who is currently promoting high school-comedy I Love You, Beth Cooper, says she wants to work on more serious projects.
"I’m working toward being a respected actress. Meryl Streep is it for me," said Panettiere.
"You don’t play villains unless you’re Sharon Stone when you’re blond and you look a certain way," she says. "I think it would be exciting for me to play the bad guy in a movie. It would be a blast. I think it’s so much fun to play bad.”
TRANSFORMERS PASSES $600m MARK
Despite the critical indifference, Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen has broken the $600m barrier in worldwide takings. Michael Bay's toy-fest is fighting off stiff competition from the likes of Ice Age 3: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs for the summer vote, and is currently the biggest movie of 2009, although Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince will make a major impact in box office takings when it's released on July 15th.
JACKSON CUT FROM BRUNO
A scene from Bruno in which LaToya Jackson is made to look rather silly has been removed from the final cut permanently, despite the usually uncompromising attitude of Sacha Baron Cohen.
The scene, in which LaToya is talked into eating sushi off of the nakes bodies of male models, was cut in the immediate aftermath of Michael Jackson's death, but it wasn't known if the scene would return by the time the movie is released.
However, a studio spokesperson said: "Out of respect for the Jackson family, the filmmakers have decided to remove a small scene involving La Toya Jackson."
Cohen has, however, already upset the Austrian ambassador, Emil Brix, thanks to a scene in which his titular character says he 'wants to be the most famous Austrian since Hitler.'
DODGEBALL 2
According to Yahoo, Ben Stiller is working on building a cast for a sequel to his comedy hit, Dodgeball.
Yahoo Sport were speaking to Tour De France cycliust Lance Armstrong, who was late signing in to a race and subsequently blamed Ben Stiller. Armstrong had a small cameo in the original movie.
According to Yahoo, cycling will feature prominently in Dodgeball 2, and actor George Hincaple will replace Vince Vaughn.
BAYWATCH: THE MOVIE
Baywatch, the lifeguard drama that made many a teenage boy's Saturday nights worth staying in for, is facing the movie treatment.
Paramount Studios have hired writer Jeremy Garelick to pen a script that will turn Baywatch into a comedy, rather than the action/ drama with a moral-of-the-day at the end.
Garelick explained: "It felt like the template to do a movie that was similar to Stripes and Police Academy, the comedies I loved growing up. Rather than trying to pitch the tone, I figured it would be easier to write the first act to convey who these characters were."
Apperently it worked as Paramount are keen to press ahead, but whether or not Hasselhoff will return for a cameo is unknown. The actor/ singer is continuing to battle alcoholism and would have to work pretty hard to get back into the condition that made his chest one of the most-viewed in the developed world.

BLADE SPIN OFF
Just when you thought we'd all realised that 'origin' movies were actually a bit rubbish (See: Hannibal Rising, Wolverine, Star Wars prequel trilogy, The Exorcist), a prequel trilogy to the Blade series is announced. But it won't focus on the sword-wielding 'daywalker', rather, the subject of this little studio money maker is Deacon Frost - Stephen Dorff's villain from the first movie.
According to The Sunday Mail, Stephen Dorff will star in a trilogy of films about the rise of Frost, the bloodsucker who met his end at the hands of Snesley Wipes' vampire hunter in 1999''s Blade.
Stephen Norrington is rumoured to be directing, although the LXG helmer won't commit until he completes work on the remake of The Crow.
RESIDENT EVIL : AFTERLIFE
The Resident Evil movie series isn't over yet - after a trilogy of zombie hunting movies, Sony are keen to continue the franchise with a fourth - Resident Evil: Afterlife, which they hope will hit cinemas in autumn 2010.
The news comes after an internal memo was circulated and subsequently leaked. Previously Milla Jovovich had said she was keen to return, while Paul W.S. Anderson is thought to be writing the script.
WOLVERINE REVIEWER STRIKES BACK
Remember the Fox News columnist who got himself fired for reviewing the online version of X-Men Origins: Wolverine? Well he's come out fighting - Roger Friedman has thrown a $5m lawsuit at Fox as he claims wrongful dismissal.
Friedman lost his $250k-a-year role in April, two days after running a review of the leaked movie. At the time, Fox insisted they had "zero tolerance for any action that encourages and promotes piracy," but the reviewer claims the piece had been cleared by his editors, and the real reason he was sacked was more to do with his criticism of Scientology, with the Church exerting influence to have him fired.
Good luck proving that, Roger.
SEQUELS DRAW AS DEPP FLOUNDERS
It was a battle of the sequels at the Independence Day-weekend box office as Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen went toe-to-toe with Ice Age 3: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs.
The result? A draw - both movies took a shade over $42m over the long-weekend, leaving Johnny Depp's gangster tale, Public Enemies, in third place with just $26m. Ice Age 3 had already taken a record amount for the opening day of an animated movie, making $13m on its Wednesday release alone.
STATHAM IN THE BLITZ
Jason Statham is set to star in Blitz, a movie about a very angry South London cop.
According to Total Film, Statham will play Brant, a homophobic, foul-mouthed, bed-tempered cop who has to deal with a depressed chief inspector, an out-of-place WPC and the emergence of a serial killer.
POTTER STAR FIGHTS SWINE FLU OFF
Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter movies, has just gotten over a bout of swine flu, his spokeswoman has announced.
Grint, who is currently filming the final chapters in the Harry Potter saga, has made a full recovery and returned to the set of The Deathly Hallows.
He's also expected to make it onto the red carpet for the premiere of The Half Blood Prince.
DR WHO: THE MOVIE
He's been time travelling for the best part of 40 years, but the BBC's time-travelling doctor-in-a-phonebox is only just being linked with a big-screen makeover.
Both star David Tennant and executive producer Russell T. Davies are expected to attend this year's Comic-Con in San Diego, California, and speculation is rife that they intend to announce plans for Dr Who: The Movie.
Tennant has previously stated that he is soon to begin work on a "Sci-Fi movie project", while Davies told Dr Who magazine he expects to announce details of a "special project," adding: "(there will be) News as and when, but I can promise, it's worth waiting for."
COLUMBUS DISCUSSES GOONIES RETURN
Writer and director Chris Columbus has openly spoken about writing a sequel to the smash hit kids' adventure movie, The Goonies.
Columbus, who wrote the movie that was directed by Richard Donner in 1985, told Sci-Fi Wire that he has some ideas about a potential sequel: "I think the only way it could be done is if the kids are now the parents, and their kids have become the Goonies."
"You can't go anywhere near a computer or cell phone. Maybe if all the parents in the new movie forbid their kids to play on the Internet, that's gotta be the plot."
Columbus also revealed that director Donner has already spoken to Joey Pantoliano, who played villain Francis Fratelli, about a return, something Pantoliano is apparently keen to do. Pantoliano and Donner are curently shooting a movie together, called Percy Jackson & The Olympians.
LEBOWSKI SPIN OFF
John Turturro has been busy promoting Transformers 2, but it's not his latest role that is of interest to fans - not when Turturro's willing to discuss a spin off movie featuring Jesus Quintana, his pedophile ten-pin bowler of Big Lebowski fame.
"We have a sketch idea," Turturro told MTV News.
"Joel and Ethan Coen have to sit down with me and they have to knock it out. But I'm hoping that within five years the jumpsuit will return."
PIRANHA REBOOTED
The Piranha movies of the early '80s were exploitative, cheap, nasty and, frankly, rubbish. Even if James Cameron and Joe Dante did direct one each.
But that hasn't stopped the franchise getting a reboot - Piranha 3D is coming to a cinema near you in 2010, but this time the cast is A-list. Or, at least, B-list.
Elisabeth Shue, Richard Dreyfuss (in a nod to his role in Jaws), Ving Rhames, Eli Roth, Jerry O'Connell and Christopher Lloyd are all on board - and waiting to be eaten alive by a school of hungry piranha in the movie being directed by The Hills Have Eyes remake helmer, Alexandre Aja.
300 2
A sequel to the homoerotic action movie 300 is in the works, according to director Zak Snyder.
Snyder, who more recently directed the adaptation of Watchmen, says that the movie will be based on Frank Miller's as-yet unwritten graphic novel.
"I know for a fact that Frank is writing right now," Snyder told WorstPreviews.com.
"He's drawing away and seems to be knee-deep in it. I think he's going to head back to Greece again and do another reconnaissance."
Despite having a wider scope than before, Snyder says he plans on using the same technology.
"I think we would use the same technology. I don't want it to look too Star Wars-ian," he explained. "Just from what [Miller] told me, it would be bigger as far as landscape and terrain. We're going to see Athens and the Aegean and other places. There would be an opportunity for bigger visions, though I'd hope for the same aesthetic.
REYNOLDS TO BURY HIMSELF
Ryan Reynolds has signed up to star in the thriller Buried.
Reynolds will play a civilian contractor in Iraq who is kidnapped and buried in a coffin in the desert, with just a mobile phone, candle and knife for company, reports Variety.
The magazine reports that Reynolds is keen to test his acting ability, having starred in a string of popcorn action movies and romantic comedies. This year he's starred in X-Men Origins: Woverine, and the forthcoming Sandra Bullock vehicle, The Proposal.
GOLDBLUM LIVES!
Actor Jeff Goldblum is alive and well, despite reports that he fell to his death on the set of his latest movie.
Word is, New Zealand police told MoviesOnline.com that the star of The Fly and Jurassic Park was filming on the Kauri Cliffs of New Zealand's north island when he fell to his doom. The news broke moments after Michael Jackson's death was confirmed.
But Goldblum's publicist was quick to denounce the rumours as a fabrication, insisting that Goldblum is alive and well in his California home.
"Reports that Jeff Goldblum has passed away are completely untrue. He is fine and in Los Angeles," stated his publicist, Lisa Kasteler.
WATSON CONSIDERS OPTIONS
Harry Potter star Emma Watson says she may not act again - unless a role as strong as that of Hermione Granger comes along again.
"There's not, like, a burning passion in me that I have to act and I don't care what I do," Watson told Teen Vogue.
"Until something comes along that I feel as strongly about as I did Hermione - like, I felt that it was life or death - I don't want to act again."
The 19-year-old's next step is to attend university, where she hopes to find "anonymity". Yes, good luck with that.
TRANSFORMERS CONTINUE MARCH
The opening box office of Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen has continued to rake in the cash, garnering the third highest ever 'midnight run'.
The movie took $16m from around 3,000 screens in the US when it opened at 12.01am on Wednesday morning. The tally puts it just behind the biggest midnight runners, The Dark Knight ($18.5m) and Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith ($16.5m) .
AVATAR FOOTAGE SEEN
Footage from Avatar, the groundbreaking new movie from James Cameron, has been seen by the eyes of mere mortals at a Cinema Expo in Amsterdam.
The footage lasted 20 minutes and showed Sam Worthington (Terminator: Salvation) in the role of ex-Marine Jake Sully, and Sigourney Weaver as Dr Grace Augustine.
Weaver's doctor explains how the Avatar system works, as Jake Sully prepares to 'jump' into the body of an Avatar, a large blue alien thing.
An insider told ComingSoon.net: "I thought, just like you guys, that I've seen it all with Gollum, or The Hulk, but Cameron has done it again.
"These creatures seem so real, that within minutes you forget you're watching an enormous and very blue CGI character. Even the eyes are totally convincing. The characters have real personalities and a soul."
The film is shot in 3D and Cameron claims he will need to open up workshops in order for other directors to use the techniques he has developed to 'transform the way films are made'.
WEAVER WON'T BE BUSTING GHOSTS
One moment she's in, the next she's out - but it now seems Sigourney Weaver WON'T be returning to the Ghostbusters franchise.
"I think they're still writing it, but (laughs) I'd be very surprised," Weaver told TV Squad.
"You never know. I just did a benefit with Bill (Murray), and we love working together, but I think they're trying to create something new completely with the Ghostbusters, although I know Bill is in it. I hope my little son Oscar (from Ghostbusters II) is a Ghostbuster!
"I don't expect to have anything to do with it, although I wish them well," she added.
DEPP ON PIRATES 4
Johnny Depp says Pirates Of The Caribbean 4 is going to happen - provided a decent script pops into his hands.
Depp is currently promoting Public Enemies, and was quizzed by Collider.com about the potantial Pirate sequel.
"What we’re trying to do is just get a script in order and make sure it’s the right thing to do. If we can get a great script it’d be a ball.”
The actor went on to explain that he is waiting for Tim Burton to finish Alice In Wonderland before the pair embark on an adaptaion of the American TV show, Dark Shadows.
“Dark Shadows is happening," Depp explained.
"Tim is working on Alice in Wonderland which is obviously quite a large piece of work there. So when Tim is done with ‘Alice’ and we get the script, which is very, very close, in order we’ll probably attack it next year. It’s exciting, very exciting. It’s like a lifelong dream for me. I loved the show when I was a kid.
TRANSFORMERS STARTS WELL
It may only be on screens in the UK and Japan, but Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen has already shot to the international number one spot.
The film took just under $20m in its opening weekend in both countries, outperforming the previous Transformer movie by over 70% in the UK. The haul pushed Terminator: Salvation into second place, with the robots-from-the-future saga taking $18m in 74 countries.
Rambo 5 To Be "Less Violent"
The violence that defined Stallone's fourth Rambo outing will be toned down for the next movie in the franchise, according to producer Avi Lerner.
Lerner, who is also working with Stallone on the much-anticipated action flick, The Expendables, says that Rambo 4 only contained such visceral violence because the subject matter of Burma required it, but by remaining uncut the movie lost half its audience.
The Expendables, meanwhile, will be cut as both a PG and an R (America's '18' certificate) so that the studio can test it in front of audiences.
BAY TIRES OF ACTION
Michael Bay is tired of making action movies. The director said that, after nearly fours years of work on the Transformers movies, he's finally had enough of explosions.
"It's like Jerry Bruckheimer said, 'You've got to do your franchise when you've got the chance.
"But after the three-and-a-half years I've spent doing these movies I feel like I've had enough of the 'Transformers' world. I need to do something totally divergent, something without any explosions."
He went on to claim his next movie has more in common with a Tarantino flick, explaining: "It's very Pulp Fiction-y. It's just real characters and very little action. Zero explosions. Although one guy does pour gasoline over another guy and sets him on fire."
CARRADINE RUMOURS CARRY ON
Actor David Carradine may have been murdered by a secret martial arts sect, according to the lawyer for Carradine's family. Mark Geragos was speaking on chatshow Larry King Live when he said that Carradine was involved with secret societies
"David was very interested in investigating and disclosing secret societies," Geragos explained. "If there was some foul play, that may be the first area they should look."
Meanwhile, Frank Krueger, who once co-starred with Carradine, told Hollyscoop.com: "There have always been stories of martial arts societies that kill those that threaten their secrecy. One of the widely held theories about Bruce Lee's death was that he was killed by one of these groups for teaching martial arts secrets.
"Personally, as unbelievable as it may sound, the theories currently being discussed as the cause of death make more sense to me than suicide."
SCREAM AGAIN
Wes Craven says he is 'open' to the idea of directing another movie in the Scream franchise.
The horror director says the man who wrote the original Scream trilogy is working on a new script which might even become another trilogy in itself.
"I had a brief conversation with Kevin Williamson, I know that Kevin is writing. What I've said to Bob (Weinstein, the producer) is I'm not closed to it, I'm not open to it, I'll be perfectly happy to read a script and tell him what I think.
"I don't think it's a reboot and Kevin, when he talked to me, said, 'Remember, it's not just Scream 4, it's Scream 5 and 6. So I guess he has a trilogy in mind."
The director added that both Courtney Cox and David Arquette have all but signed contracts to return, but no other cast members - including Neve Campbell - should expect a phone call any time soon.
TERMINATOR: SUCCESS
Terminator: Salvation is officially a hit after taking $67.5 m in it's opening weekend outside of the US. It's the third biggest weekend for a movie in 2009, after X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and Tom Hanks vehicle, Angels & Demons.
The film has taken over $170m across the world, and with a Japan release imminent, is well on course to beat the $280m that Terminator 3 took during it's 2003 release.
PIRATES BOW TO LONE RANGER MOVIE
Pirates Of The Caribbean 4 has been pushed back a year - allowing The Lone Ranger to make a big screen bow in the meantime.
Pirates was tipped for a 2011 release, but Disney and Bruckheimer productions are keen to make the most of the rights to The Lone Ranger, which was originally a Columbia pictures movie that went into development hell in 2003.

MICKEY GETS THE BIRD
Mickey Rourke appears to have got over the death of his beloved pooch Loki...with the help of a cockatoo.
The 56-year-old star of The Wrestler was in mourning after his chihuahua died in February - just days after he thanked the mutt in his Best Actor acceptance speech at the Golden Globe awards.
Now Rourke, also starred in Nine and a Half Weeks and Angel heart, has emerged from his grief with new buddy Sunny on his shoulder during a dinner date last month.
A fellow diner at Beverly Hills eaterie Cristoni Pizza tells Star magazine, "Mickey looked very comfortable with the pet. It sat on his shoulder the whole time."

HEATHER PUTS SPELL ON OBAMA
Actress Heather Graham says President Obama owes her and her white witch chums a big debt for helping him get into the White House.
"My friends really wanted Obama to be elected so we all did a spell... and then he got elected... it worked out good," said the Boogie Nights star, who admits to dabbling in witchcraft.
"We call ourselves The Goddesses and we wish for things and then a lot of amazing things have happened to all of us. We did this thing where we were calling on the wind and the air and this whole storm started on my roof... It was amazing... It's empowering."
Graham went on to claim her flirtation with the occult had landed her a top-notch boyfriend - film-maker Yaniv Raz.
"I want him to cook, I want him to turn me onto great music...We'll do, like, good sex spells." Crikey.
ANGELINA JOLIE THE MOST POWERFUL CELEBRITY
Angelina Jolie has knocked Oprah Winfrey off the Forbes Celebrity 100 Power List's top spot. Although Jolie was fantastic (and Oscar nominated) in Clint Eastwood's Changeling, it is due to her ubquity in tabloids and gossips mags around the world that won her first place. Angelina's fella, a certain Brad Pitt, came in at No.9.
It was a good showing for the ladies, who made it into four of the top five spots. The Top 10 is:
1. Angelina Jolie
2. Oprah Winfrey
3. Madonna
4. Beyonce Knowles
5. Tiger Woods
6. Bruce Springsteen
7. Steven Spielberg
8. Jennifer Aniston
9. Brad Pitt
10. Kobe Byrant
Not all good news for the women (or Brits), as J.K. Rowling dropped off the list, despite being 2008's list's highest earner.
ARNIE LOVING THE ALIEN?
He is currently the Governator, though maybe for not much longer his popularity rating suggests. But, one vote Arnold Schwarzenegger can rely on is Robert Rodriguez'. The Sin City director wants Arnie on board for a cameo as "Dutch", his character in 1987's Predator, in the upcoming reboot Predators.
No word from the Schwarzenegger camp yet, but Arnie has proved himself cameo friendly in the (recent) past.
TOTAL RECALL TO BE RECALLED?
Speaking of the Austrian Oak, his 1990 smash Total Recall is also in line for the re-imagining treatment. Equilibrium's Kurt Wimmer is reportedly on board to helm another version of Philip K Dick's We Can Remember It For You Wholesale.
Equilibrium, the cheeky Christian Bale 1984 in The Matrix actioner, has become a cult item, but his last directorial effort was 2006's woeful Ultraviolet. And his script for The Thomas Crown Affair remake wasn't up to much either.
But, if he can get Bale back, Total Recall might be worth going back to. All we ask is for a Sharon Stone cameo. For old time's sake.
MARTYRS DIRECTOR IS NO HELLRAISER
Word is the announced Hellraiser remake is again without a director. Dimension's updating of Clive Barker's 80s horror classic that turned Pinhead into a terror icon has had a troubled production and it's not getting any easier.
Things were looking up when Martyrs' director Pascal Laugier signed on, gushing enthusiasm for the project. But, Clive Barker has reportedly Twitter'ed that Laugier has dropped out.
Back to the drawing board then for a project that has seen other directors come and go. Laugier did seem like a good fit for the project. We're big fans of Martyrs, his gruelling French horror film, and were excited to see what he could bring to the franchise.
Don't pin your hopes on seeing this remake emerge any time soon.
MEGAN FOX: "ACTING IS LIKE PROSTITUTION".
Transformers hotty Megan Fox has told GQ magazine that her chosen job is basically the same as the world's oldest profession.
The 23 year old actress drew parallels between acting and prostitution, saying "We get paid to feign attraction and love" and that people pay to see actresses do things ordinary people wouldn't dream of.
While there are parallels, we think streetwalkers in London's King Cross would much rather wrestle giant robots than face their day jobs...
Tattoo fan Fox also commented recently that she'd quit acting if turned down for a role because of her body art, claiming she plans on getting one arm completely sleeved.
JONAH HILL PREFERS RIB-TICKLERS TO ROBOTS
Speaking of Transformers, Superbad and Night at the Museum 2 star Jonah Hill opted to appear in Judd Apatow's new movie Funny People over Michael Bay's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
Dismissing reports that he'd asked the Transformers people for too much money, Hill told Complex magazine although he was a fan of Bay's, the movie "just wasn't right".
Funny People is Apatow's first film as director since 2007's Knocked Up. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is Bay's first film since 2007's original mega-robot smash-up.
EMINEM KNEW HE'D BE BUTT OF BRUNO'S JOKE
Move along folk, nothing to see here. Eminem knew Sacha Baron Cohen's Bruno was going to near-naked divebomb him at the MTV Movie Awards according to Scott Aukerman, host Andy Samberg's head writer.
Writing on his blog Aukerman says the whole routine, compromising position and all, was dress rehearsed.
Which means Eminem does have a sense of humour about himself, and should also do more straight acting. He did look mighty ticked off as he stormed out of the awards show with his bodyguard entourage.
Now we await the conspiracy theories that this is leaked misinformation designed to save Eminem some face.
BUDGET ZOMBIE BRIT FLIC HITS CANNES
A British zombie film with a budget of just forty-five quid looks set to become one of the surprise hits of Cannes.
The makers of Colin kept the expenses down by surviving on cheap supermarket biscuits (Tesco Value) and getting the actors and crew to donate their services free.
Shot with a camcorder from the zombie's point of view, the 97-minute horror has already attracted the attention of two Japanese companies keen on distribution rights.
The most extravagant expense was a crowbar as 30-year-old director Marc Price asked his friends to work as extras and bring their own weapons.
"We just wanted to make a film that we hoped people would want to see, and we hope it will get into a position where we can make another film with more of a budget," said Mr Price, who filmed in London and Swansea.
'It's crazy to be arrogant about it. It's a small film which is really about story and character. It's a dirty little film, but we really hope it's got a lot of heart.'
LARS VON TRIER IS CANNES' LITTLE DEVIL
There's always one every year at Cannes - a movie that splits opinion and has audiences running out onto La Croisette.
2009 is no exception, with Lars Von Trier's Antichrist causing a bit of a stir. A married couple venture into the woods after the death of their child, but rather than recuperation, evisceration appears to be the point of their get-away-from-it-all.
Wince-inducing mutilation focussing on the more tender areas of human anatomy has had Cannes audiences flinching away from the screen.
Von Trier is something of a Cannes darling, having won the Palme D'or twice for Breaking the Waves and The Dancer in the Dark. Antichrist marks the seventh time the great Dane has been Palme D'or nominated.
THE FORCE WAS STRONGER WITH "STAR TREK" DIRECTOR J.J. ABRAMS
He may have successfully rebooted Star Trek for a whole new generation of fans, but Lost creator J.J. Abrams admits that as a youngling it was actually Star Wars that rocked his universe. Aged 11 when Star Wars came out, Abrams says it connected with him in a way the original Star Trek series couldn't.
But, having directed the movie he now loves the franchise that boldly goes where few other sci-fi shows do, saying, "I feel a little stupid that I had to direct a movie to understand what my friends had loved for so long."
Still, if George Lucas ever decides to reboot his Star Wars prequels, we say J.J. should be given the top job.
BA MIGHT BE COMMON
Rapper-turned-actor 'Common' is being lined up to play B.A. Barracus in the long-awaited A-Team movie. While not confirming he's got the gig, Common appeared pretty keen onthe role when quizzed.
"I can't do the mohawk hair cut but we got to do something, we got to find something to make it work. You definitely have to give it something different," he told IESB.com.
"It's a new day, you just got to give it something new. The kids don't know that B.A. so you wanna bring something new to it and you want to pay respect to B.A. and the way B.A, was created too."
Common - real name Lonnie Rashid Lynn, Jr - will soon be seen in Terminator: Salvation.
DIESEL REFUELS ON xXx
Vin Diesel's back in business after the surprise success of the fourth Fast & Furious movie.
Unfortunately, Diesel looks set to make the same mistakes all over again - the star has reportedly signed on to do another xXx movie, although on the slightly more positive side, he's also taken a lead role in John Singleton's The Wheelman.
SCORSESE'S WAY
In much firmer news, Martin Scorsese has signed on to direct the story of Frank Sinatra's life.
The movie has been touted for a while, but script rights have been a stumbling block in the past. Sinatra's family are also said to be very hard to please on the matter, although it appears they've given their blessing to Scorsese's involvement.
No actors have yet been linked to the starring role, but attention has inevitably fallen on Leonardo DiCaprio, given his recent run of movies with the legendary director.
McG: Too Late To Grow Some Balls?
A good three months after the Christian Bale rant hit the internet, directing 'master' McG has taken responsibility. The selfless act came during an interview with Access Hollywood.
“It broke my heart, because I take all the responsibility for protecting my actors on the set day in and day out,” said McG.
"It’s my responsibility to make sure that they can be free to express themselves in any way they like and it’s a real violation of the family of the set community,” he said in reference to the release of the audio file.
“Christian is a very good guy, he’s got no entourage, drives around in a pickup truck, no assistant, he’s just focused on being an actor, and he’s really, really a good guy.”
McG didn't explain why he didn't say this three months ago. On the audio file you can hear him giggling nervously, before claiming he "didn't see" the incident that led to Bale's infamous rant.
TREK BREAKS IMAX RECORDS
Star Trek has broken Imax records since its release last week - but a row has kicked off over the size of the screens that ought to qualify as 'Imax'.
The film took over $12m in Imax takings across 138 screens. the previous record was The Dark Knight, which took $6.3m on 94 screens.
However, the validity of the record is being questioned as many of the screens are nowhere near the size of the largest Imax screens.
Imax cheif executive Richard Gelfond defended the decision to use smaller screens, saying: "Does American Airlines brand a (Boeing) 767 (flight) differently than a 727? We wouldn't put our name on it unless it lived up to the 'Wow!' factor and to the Imax brand,"
BEN.STILLER@EMAILFRAUD.COM
Ben Stiller has signed on to star in Help Me Spread Goodness, a drama about email fraud.
Stiller is to play a Chicago banker who falls victim to a Nigerian internet scam when he's asked to give his bank details to a 'prince' in order to receive lots of cash.
The movie is likely to highlight the plight of the Nigerian people, which is a requisite given that the film's financers, Participant Media, insist their movies must touch on relevant world issues.
X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE 2
Despite the bad reviews and internet leak, Hugh Jackman is already working on a sequel to Wolverine. Next time out Wolverine will be involved with Samurai warriors, as he was in the comic books.
"The Seed partners have begun planning the sequel," reported Variety.
"They are squarely focusing on the samurai storyline originated in the comic series, and whose Japanese locale was teased after the film's final credits."
Jackman, who produced as well as starred in Wolverine, has several other projects in the pipeline, including Personal Security (about a cop who must become a bodyguard and look after a teen heiress by night), Drive (in which he's a man who races cars by day, and steals them by night) and Carousel, a remake of the 50s Rogers & hammerstein classic.
SIN CITY 2
Robert Rodriguez has spoken about the likelihood of a Sin City sequel - and it seems to be moving forward.
"I actually had a phone call with some of the players in it today, but I was on a plane so I missed it," the director said while promoting the release of Sin City on Blu-Ray.
"So next week we're going to talk about it some more and get a timing on when we'd be doing it. But there's a lot of people who are interested in it. ... We are definitely going to do that one."
LEE HAMMERED AGAIN
Hammer Films are to cast Christopher Lee in an all-new horror for the recently relaunched studio.
The Resident (which may be retitled Invasion Of Privacy) will be something like the millionth Hammer horror to star Lee, who made his name appearing in the classics Dracula, The Mummy and The Hound Of The Baskervilles.
TWILIGHT SUCKS! ERM... GIZZA JOB ON TWILIGHT
The first Twilight sequel might still be in production, but the third instalment has already been grrenlit - and a director has even been hired.
Unfortunately, that director had some rather negative comments to make about the vampire franchise on his Twitter page last year.
‘Twilight drunk? No, not even drunk. Twilight on acid? No, not even on acid. Twilight at gunpoint? Just shoot me,’ wrote David Slade before he was hired for the job of directing Twilight 3.
I'LL BE CONFUSED
Arnold Schwarzenegger has reportedely seen the new Terminator: Salvation, and is said to have been 'confused' by it.
According to the LA times, he said: "I wasn't sure who the Terminator was. I don't know if there is one or if he's the star or the hero. These are the things that determine the success and how strong the movie will be."
Director McG, meanwhile, responded by saying " We're going to win people over when they see what we have here. We're bringing credibility back to Terminator."
Given that McG makes films like Charlie's Angels, and Arnie thought Collateral Damage was a good move, it's hard to know who to believe.
GEARS OF WAR MOVIE UPDATE
The movie based on Gears Of War, the best-selling computer game, is moving along nicely according to screenwriter Chris Morgan.
Morgan is penning the script, which will revolve around a group of hardened soldiers who fight underground-dwelling monsters on an Earth-like planet, and says everything's going well - provided the budget can be found.
"A draft went in and we're talking about it now and we're budgeting it out... It's looking incredibly good," Morgan told MTV.
"I think the gamer side is going to be thrilled with it. All the stuff you want to see, we put that in there and then we blow it out a little more, even. Now it's just a matter of honing in on all of the character arcs and determining production types of things."
BATMAN 3: BALES IN. NOLAN'S NOT. YET.
Christian Bale has revealed that he is contractully obliged to star in a third Batman movie - but director Christopher Nolan isn't.
Bale insists that Nolan is the only person capable of following up The Dark Knight, but is concerned that his friend Nolan might not want to take the job on.
"It's got to be the right story. You can't make something like The Dark Knight and then come out with something disappointing," the actor told Total Film.
"The fact is, I have to (make a third movie). I've signed up! Chris doesn't. So I'm in a bit of a fix if he says he doesn't want to!"
NICE BEAVER
Jim Carrey is in pole position to win the lead role in The Beaver, an oddball comedy about a man's relationship with a beaver puppet that he wears on his arm.
The script for the proposed movie has been hot property in Hollywood for a while, although with no director yet attached, Carrey is unlikely to be confirmed in the near future.
Films that Carrey will be seen in soon include I Love You Phillip Morris, and Disney's latest version of A Christmas Carol. He's also set to play Curly in the Farrelly Brothers' The Three Stooges.
OPTIMISTIC MR FOX
Michael J Fox has spoken openly about his fight with Parkinson's Disease in an interview with The Washington Post.
The actor has been supporting the release of his book 'Always Looking Up: The Adventures Of An Incurable Optimist', which he has also adapted into a TV show.
“I feel that whatever hardships or losses I’ve had as a result of the Parkinson’s are far outweighed by the gifts I have been given in life,” Fox said. “Everyone gets their own bag of hammers, and I think people are heartened by the fact that I feel grateful and optimistic.”
As host of Michael J Fox: Adventures of an Incurable Optimist, Fox scours the globe looking for answers to the question, 'what makes a person an optimist?' and the differences it makes to the mind, body and wallet.
LITTLE BRITAIN: THE MOVIE
David Walliams has confirmed that a movie version of Little Briatain is in the works.
The comedy star told The Sun that he and co-star Matt Lucas had nearly finished writing the script which will be set in Las Vegas.
"We’re really happy with it," Walliams told The Sun. "But the whole film project is still kind of dependent on how much we can raise our profiles in America...Ultimately, our aim was always to make a film and it’s very exciting," he explained
WALL STREET SEQUEL
Oliver Stone has signed on to direct a sequel to his classic 80s thriller, Wall Street.
According to Variety, Stone is set to direct Shia LaBeouf in Wall Street 2, which was first mooted last year when Fox hired a writer - former trader-turned-screenwriter Allan Loeb - to pen a new script.
Little else is known about the potential sequel, except that LaBeouf will play another young Wall Street trader and the recent economic meltdown will fit perfectly with the movie's plot. It is not known if Michael Douglas will return to play Gorden Gecko, although rumour has it a script exists that opens with his release from prison...
BRAND TO DROP DEAD
We do our best to bring you news on as many new movie productions as possible - but we do not wish to be held responsible for the fact that all new movies appear to be sequels or remakes.
Which is why we're not too keen to mention that Universal Studios have hired Russell Brand to star in the remake of rubbish early-90s comedy, Drop Dead Fred.
The original starred Phoebe Cates (Gremlins) as a young businesswoman who loses her job, gets dumped by her fiance and subsequently reverts back to hanging out with her imaginary friend - played by Rik Mayall.
Worst. Film Idea. Ever. X2.
CAINE TO QUIT. MAYBE.

Michael Caine says he will retire of he doesn't receive any more good scripts.
The 76-year-old acting legend is currently promoting, Is Anybody There?, his new, British movie about a retired magician who befriends a young boy.
Caine revealed: “I’ve just finished a film called Harry Brown and between that and this I didn’t work for 18 months so you get the impression because this has come out and then I’m talking about 'Harry Brown', you think: ’Boy, he’s making films the whole time’.
"I didn’t make a film for 18 months because quite truthfully I didn’t see a script that I wanted to do for 18 months until Harry Brown came along.
“And now I don’t have a script to do. I have a very small part in Christopher Nolan’s Inception, but that’s just a friendship between he and I, it’s just a couple of days."
HE'LL BE BACK
Arnold Schwarzenegger's terminating days may not be over - the actor-turned-governor has not only given his blessing in regards to Terminator: Salvation (which may yet feature a cameo from the big man himself), he also says he would consider returning should another be produced.
“I think it’s cool to continue on with the franchise,” he said. “In case I want to jump over again and get into the acting after I’m through here.”
Arnie has already made it clear he doesn't have the time to shoot scenes for Salvation, but said last year:
“I said that I would be willing to be in the movie if they get the technology together, and so they are working on that right now.”
Does this mean there will be a selection of Arnie clones in Salvation? Here's hoping...
BAY FEARS SPOCK
Michael Bay has admitted he is too timid to ask Star Trek legend Leonard Nimoy to voice one of the robots in his new sequel, Tansformers: Revenge Of The Fallen.
Bay, who hasn't quite finished is latest blockbuster, revealed he is related to Nimoy, but said he feels to awkward about asking him to add his vocals to the movie.
"You know, he's related to me," Bay told MTV News. "He is married to Susan Bay, who's a cousin to me. I just feel kind of bad about asking him. Like 'I can't pay you that much? But would you do this voice?'"
X-MEN: FIRST CLASS
A chief producer on the X-Men franchise says she's keen to start work on an all-new spin-off based on the First Class comics. Lauren Shuler Donner said there's a plan to bring the prequel comic (featuring the X-Men as kids and teenagers. Think Smallville.) into the franchise, assuming X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a success.
"It is the first class of Xavier's school, way back when, so it's young Scott, young Jean, young Beast and that'll be really fun," Donner said.
"I think the plan is to follow some of the characters into their own stories, and weave them back into the X-Men world. And hopefully 'First Class' will become its own franchise and we can follow them as they grow up."
TRANSFORMERS 2 'EXTENDED'
Did you find the Transformers movie was a bit long? It appears director Michael Bay cares not for numb posteriors, having just announced that tne sequel, Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen, is to be slightly longer than its predecessor.
"It's four minutes longer than the last one, so go figure that out," said Bay.
That means it'll clock in at 147 minutes, offering nearly two-and-a-half-hours of giant robot fighting, shouting, and slow-motion close ups. But Bay's not bothered about concerns, insisting: "I don't ever talk about run times. Studios always ask, 'What's the run time?' And I'm like 'If you enjoy the movie, do you care?'"
That's the thing Michael...
Eric Bana is being linked with a sequel to Chopper, the movie about real-life criminal Mark 'Chopper' Read, that made Bana a star back in 2000.
Aussie comedian, Heath Franklin, said: "I've heard a rumour there's a sequel with Eric involved as well, but I don't know how much weight that carries."
Either way, expect Bana to be quizzed endlessely as he promotes his latest flick, The Time Traveler's Wife.
A NEW NIGHTMARE
Watchmen's Jackie Earl Haley has been cast as Freddie Kruger in the remake of horror classic, A Nightmare On Elm Street.
Haley, who played the hooded Rorschach in Zak Snyder's epic comic book thriller, will don the knife-fingered glove to play child-killer Kruger in the remake set for release in 2010. He also played a child molester in the Kate Winslet drama, Little Children.
In not entirely related news, you can see a brilliant fan-made trailer for the movie here.
JOLIE HITS THE DECK
Angelina Jolie collapsed on the set of her new movie, Salt, according to Now Magazine.
The actress had just filmed a scene in which she ran around like a mad woman. The source went on to claim Jolie wasn't eating right, although it's not be confirmed as to whether or not the source is also her nutritionist
The report also claims Jolie is on a liquid diet in an effort to slim down to a size more suitable to her character - who at one stage disguises herself as a (presumably thin) man.
PRISONER BALE-D
Christian Bale is being tipped to join acting rebel Mark Wahlberg in the cast of Prisoners.

The movie's script has created much buzz around Hollywood - the storyline concerns a bible-reading, nature-loving survivalist who takes the law into his own hands when his six-year-old daughter and her pal are kidnapped.
The script's numerous twists and turns have appealed to many big names, with Bryan Singer being tipped to direct.
X-MEN ORIGINS: PIRACY
20th Century Fox are attempting to throw the book at those responsible for the recent leak of X-Men Origins: Wolverine onto the internet.

An incomplete version the movie appeared last week and although the file - which is being downloaded via torrent websites - is missing a 15-minute sequence, as well as numerous effects shots, it's popularity has created major concern at Fox, who feel the leak will heavily damage the film's box office takings.
Media law expert, Steve Kuncewicz, said: "The FBI is already working on tracing the source of the leak and is pushing for a criminal sentence. If there are copies in the UK, then anyone in possession is at risk."
CAINE MENTIONS DARK KNIGHT AGAIN
Michael Caine has revealed a sequel to The Dark knight is still "quite a long way away".
The actor was speaking at a press junket for his new movie, Is Anybody There, when he was quizzed about teaming up with director Chris Nolan again.
"I hope I'm still alive," said the 76-year-old Caine. "Michael Gough, who played Alfred in Batman before me. The last time he played in Batman he was 84."
WHAT NOLAN DID NEXT
Meanwhile, The Dark Knight director, Christopher Nolan, has cast Batman Begins and Sunshine star Cillian Murphy in his next movie, Inception.
Murphy joins Leonardo DiCaprio, Juno's Ellen Page and Marion Cotillard, who has just finished working on Public Enemies with Johnny Depp and Christian Bale, in the cast for the sci-fi actioner. Plot details are firmly under wraps.
