Making Terminators

The Terminator was born out of this image – the nightmarish figure of a metal skeleton emerging from fire. Literally nightmarish, as director James Cameron claims it came to him during a fever dream (possibly caused by his landing Pirahna II: The Flying Killers as a directorial debut). Every Terminator film, plus The Sarah Connor Chronicles, has featured a shot of a metallic meanie materialising from flames.
