Josh Holloway LostAre Marvel willing to take a Gambit with an older star, or will they put him in The Avengers?Lost fans may be mourning the loss of their favourite geeky action adventure show, but it looks like they could have a suitable 'candidate' for their emotional transference.

Josh Holloway, aka Sawyer on Lost, is being tapped up by Marvel for two possible superhero films.

Total Film has reported that Holloway has been approached about starring in Joss Whedon's The Avengers, or possibly even Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class.

While the heartthrob was originally a stone's throw away from the role of Gambit for X-Men: The Last Stand, with its status as prequel, we can't see the now 41-year old mixing it up with the youngsters (James McAvoy as Xavier, and a more than likely Aaron Johnson).

2012's super hero team-up is looking more likely, with a variety of roles - Ant-Man, Dum Dum Dugan and Hawkeye are still available - free for the smooth talking lothario to slip into alongside The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America and Thor.
