Ever the bridesmaid to the Oscars but always a fair indicator of quality, the Hollywood Press Association's annual awards shindig never fails to attract attention. And judging by the nominations, the 2012 Golden Globes ceremony promises to be an eclectic affair.
Leading the field with six nominations is French fancy The Artist - a silent movie in black-and-white, no less. That's followed by George Clooney's tale of family dysfunction The Descendants and Deep South drama The Help, with five apiece.
