Murder, betrayal, political persecution and the redemptive power of friendship are expertly intertwined in The Edge of Heaven, a moving, assured fifth feature from German-Turkish director Fatih Akin. Reminiscent of recent arthouse hits Hidden and Babel, it’s a rich, rewarding movie deserving of the same crossover success.
