When widowed father-of-three Dan Burns (Steve Carell) takes a timeout during the annual family weekend, he meets his perfect match. Marie (Juliette Binoche) is pretty, witty and a wonderful listener. Unfortunately, she turns out to be his brother’s new girlfriend… The engaging leads and lots of smart observations on family life make for a romantic comedy that manages to stay the right side of whimsy while still putting the ‘aw’ into awkward.
