Madonna plays Eva Peron, the notorious B-movie actress who married Argentina's dictatorial president Juan Peron (Jonathan Pryce). Based on the hit stage production by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, this also features Antonio Banderas as Che, the narrator, and Jimmy Nail as Eva's hometown boyfriend. Trivia: Barbra Streisand turned down the role eventually taken up by Madonna.
