The women 08Eva Mendes talking the talk in The WomenSky Movies Magazine: So what was it like on the set of The Women, with so many, well, women?

Eva Mendes: [Laughs] Cat fights! We got into a brawl the first day. And then we were good. No, I had a great time bonding with all those women. Me, Meg, Annette (Bening) and Jada (Pinkett-Smith) all went over to the director (Diane English)'s place in Cape Cod.

SMM: Are you anything like your character in the movie?

EM: Oh God, I really hope not! She’s very desperate. Not a bad person, not evil or anything, but she makes really bad decisions. I think messing around with a married man is a really big deal – you had better be ready to get called every name in the book. I don’t believe you’re stealing a husband, but it’s a major thing to carry on your shoulders.

SMM: What’s the ultimate girls’ night out for you?

EM: Ooh! Taking my girlfriends out! I’ve had the same girlfriends since I was in the seventh grade.
I love to go out to dinner, and introduce some new… some thing to my friends that we normally wouldn’t do. Like a place they’ve never been, or a certain type of cuisine they’ve never had. I really like to treat them. I love to treat people! And I didn’t even know this about myself until recently. I have my base – maybe six women in my life that I cannot live without. I feel really blessed that I have that.

SMM: So friendship is important to you?

EM: I have such a tight circle of friends and it goes back to when I was 12 years old with some of these girls. We get together and it’s like school all over again!
