Bond: "World domination. The same old dream. Our asylums are full of people who think they're Napoleon. Or God."
Apart from 007 himself, one of the biggest attraction of the films have been the many and varied shapes taken by his evil adversaries - the Bond villains.
One's got metal hands. Another has an obsession with gold. His greatest nemesis - Ernst Stavro Blofeld - had a hankering for global power.
With the end of the Cold War, 007 had to look elsewhere for his enemies. So there were rogue Soviets, double-crossing colleagues, Latin American drugs dealers, loopy Yanks who wanted to flood Silicon Valley (we're talking Christopher Walken here) or deranged drug smugglers who could call upon the dark forces of voodoo.
