The Actress The daughter of a Kent welder and a cleaner, Arterton was selected from 7,000 candidates after one of the casting directors saw her portrayal of Rosaline in Love's Labour's Lost at London's Globe Theatre. She made her film debut in the 2007 movie St Trinian's as Head Girl Kelly, a role she gained in competition with Sienna Miller. She also appeared in the 2008 comedy Three And Out with Mackenzie Crook and Imelda Staunton.
